Just acquired Kubota L245DT with FEL. First time with FEL equipment and have a question when changing hydraulic oil and filters...because the FEL runs out of the same fluid reservoir, is there any thing I need to do to make sure the FEL hyd lines are bled properly after swapping out the oil. Also, the manual calls for 24.3 qts of SAE 80 oil...do I need more with the FEL attached?

Thanks in advance, my first Kubota and this site is awesome!

You're going to be amazed at how handy the FEL is.

Don't know about additional fluid.
Shouldn't have to bleed the hydraulic lines, it gets automaticallydumped off.
I think I recall a post about having to prime the pump.

I've got the same tractor and loader. From what I've read, you don't want to use gear oil if your loader is sharing the fluid. Vic has some good videos covering fluids you might benefit from. I used Walmart tractor fluid when I serviced mine this summer. There are 4 drain plugs if I remember right, and clean or replace the screen before you refill. No need to bleed anything, just refill, cycle the loader and 3 point, then top off if required.

Hello,

as fare as I remember the bleeding will be done automatically by moving the cylinders several times in and out. The air will "bubble-up" the oil and the oil will be pressed into the tank.

Regarding the volume it is quite easy. If the cylinders and hoses were empty it will be filled with the oil of your hydraulic tank. So, this volume you have to add. Because it will stay in the FEL-system, even after you have disconnected it. You can roughly calculate the volume or/and use the dip stick.

Good Luck :)
