Last Christmas mother got me a new tree stand. I was watching a hunting show on the outdoor channel last fall and they had the Buck Hut made be Millennium I commented that wow thats nice and one showed up Dec 24th. SO I finally got to putting it togeather. I assembled it in the driveway and took it into the bush with my Kubota. Assembled the legs, cross bracing and its up.
Having had to rotocuff surgeries pulling a bow is no longer possible. But Maine made it legal to use crossbows in archery season now. So I'm back to hunting early now.

Very nice looking stand. We start two weeks from tomorrow.
Generally a little too warm for me during the first couple weeks, but I go out and sit in a stand any way just in case a wall hanger walks buy

Nice stand. Got to get mine up. Using a crossbow up back, its on a hill and not a good place for a rifle.

I plan to go to my property Wednesday and stay the rest of the week. I will Bushhog and Subsoil the food plots to start getting them ready. No disking nor planting until mid October because the army worms are really bad this year.

After Bushhoging the plots, I will turn my attention to the open areas and trails.

Sighted in wife's rifle with the new scope last weekend. It was here fathers, this will be her first time hunting deer with it since it was given to her. She did borrow it to take a moose in 2001. Yesterday we went ruffed grouse hunting, it was opening day. We saw one but didn't get a shot. Then we replaced her wooden deer seat with a metal one. Still need to cut some more wood for camp.

plus we had to replace a post under the Strawhouse. It's 14' to the floor and 4' in the ground.

My picture is a bit crooked as seen by the roofline but it is good to go.

I think I will take the bota hunting this year. I was mowing today and the deer never ever bothered to run or even stop doing what they were doing every time I passed by them. Just looked and went on eating apples and pares off the ground

I admire you guy's enthusiasm!

For whatever reason I never got into hunting animals, but your thread title reminded me of days gone by before I got married and the hunting I did then! LOL

Now on the old side of 70 those are just pleasant memories, never to be repeated...

Edit: Or to be shared with the better half either! :ROFLMAO:
