I bought a used B2650 last year. Everything works well, but when slightly engaging the HST pedal in forward or reverse it always has a high-pitched grinding noise that subsides when I press the pedal down more. It doesn't seem to affect the functioning of the tractor, it is just highly annoying--Doesn't sound like e fingers on a chalkboard, but along the same effect on my ears. When I'm doing a lot of back-and-forth work I have to wear noise cancelling earbuds.
Anybody aware of this problem, what causes it, and if there's a way to fix it?

In my experiences with any hydro machine there is a pretty significant whine. I would not call it a grinding noise but it is annoying however completely normal.

Hydro's will whine. Gear tractors will not or should not. You described a "grinding" noise. That is not normal.
