Just finished the process of changing out the HST fluid and filters.......found dealing with the funnel and pouring the fluids took more than two hands. So after the fact, came up with this to try for the next schedule fluid change.

FWIW, I'm 80 years young old, with multiple health issues, and just trying to make things as easy as possible to keep on keeping on!!!

Both ideas are great. Kubota engineers haven't really thought things through for some of the things. Other things are quite ingenious. Thanks for the ideas although I won't be needing this for a while either. At first, I spilled more than what made it in! Of course that helps with their HST fluid sales. :)

Still have to hold the pail forever. I just used a clear PV tube and siphoned it from the bucket to the tractor. Bad thing is I overfilled a bit. So I had to use the extractor pump to bring it back to 2/3 sight glass.

This looks ideal for filling my L3301. I have been using a funnel with the flex tube which works but holding the pail up is tiring for a 76 yr old.

If you pour from a 5 gallon bucket with lid and spout, this is the best way to do it until it’s about half empty. Then flip the bucket around where the spout is down and pour normally. It gives a little more control.

I've been using the 5 gallon bucket pumps for years , but a year or so back I bought a 12 VDC pump off Amazon for doin my oil , so if I plan to be movin a lot of fluid I us the electric pump .
They say the one I bought is currently not available , but I'm sure theres a whole bunch of other ones out there . I pais @ 29 bucks for the one I bought .

I have one of those pail pumps but only use it for refilling the axels and for my ZTR. Much faster to pour from the pail into a large funnel for my tractor.

I did it for decades. After holding a bucket for about the third time, I decided there had to be a better way. And there is, and it's dirt simple-and cheap.

What "I" did, and y'all can do it however you please, was to siphon it into the tractor. Huh???

Place a piece of carpet or cardboard on the fender, put the bucket on the fender (cardboard to keep from scratching it...), then I just used a piece of 1/2 or 5/8 hose, run to the bottom of the bucket and the other end down into the transmission fill hole. Put a little air pressure in the bucket to get the siphon started and once it was working, walk off and go do other stuff....checking wheel bolts, loader bolts, triple check the front axle fluid level, etc. Most of the time it was about 8-9 minutes to siphon the entire contents of a 5 gal bucket into the transmission. Got bored one day and timed it. Super UDT if it makes any difference and it probably does since the viscosity of regular UDT is a little "thicker".

yeah it woulda been nice to have a pump with a flowmeter on it so we knew exactly how much we put into the tractor, but gotta keep in mind that the boss man was heavily focused on sales and not so much parts and service, if we asked him to spend a dime for the service department, it was almost a guaranteed "no".
