Just curious - how waterproof is everything on the interior of a Kubota cab tractor, such as my Grand L 60 series?

The instrument cluster seems to be the same as the one used on the open station L60 series, along with all the dash buttons and levers. Now granted, the headliner is cloth and the HVAC / radio / wiper controls probably are not, but otherwise could you hose the lower area out?

That's a great question.

I have a B3000 and would like to squirt the rubber liner off inside the cab without fear of the water doing some damage.

just drape an old shower curtain or new tarp over the dashboard BEFORE you 'hose down' the interior..... some magnets 'stratigically placed' will keep cover on..

Sure seems to me the dashboard of the open station and cab tractor are identical, so I'm not sure that would be necessary. Just looking for confirmation...

I've never 'hosed' the interior of my M9 cab out in all the years I've owned it. I carry a small whisk broom and dustpan in the cab at all times. It gets muddy at times but the floormat brooms off easily. I would not hose out the interior if I owned it. Too many crevices in there to get compromised.

Underneath the rubber liner of my L6060 is some soft sound dampening material. Almost looks like carpet underlayment. I would be worried about getting it wet leading to trapped water underneath, mold, etc. Best to remove the rubber liner in the floor mat and hose off outside of the tractor. Would wipe everything else down with a wet cloth.

Heck I am so paranoid about my non cab L3560 that I won't let them take it away for service after the guy mentioned power washing it! All that computer electronics does not need to get wet in my opinion. I hose off the underneath where one has to get bolts undone to change the oil etc, but I dont go mud bogging with mine, so it is not all that bad. Just a little horse manure  The tech when he saw it said oh, it's pretty clean. And the cab on the B tractor or operator's station can be swept or vacuumed off when the mud dries easily. A swiffer cloth is handy for doing the dash or intellipanel. As mentioned before in another thread a vacuum with a brush attachment does a great job on the radiator and assorted coolers.

Fine, I'll leave the hosing out of the cab. It's a real nice tractor, I just want to keep it clean. SheepFarmer, it looks like the electronics brain is located above the rear axle area - maybe for the HST? It is completely sealed since it is subject to getting wet in it's location.

Yeah, right where you would be inclined to blast it with the water spray. When I found it I was mystified as to why it was back there. Maybe to keep it away from the hot dpf under the hood.

A good shop vacuum will really clean the cab up nice. A longer hose on it makes it easier.

Or it could be just for a shorter wire run from the ECU to then transmission, who knows.
