Have an old tractor that has a PTO shaft that is difficult to rotate to hook up an implement? Here's a simple solution.

And once you get it fixed, you’ll have on heck of a bread mixer.

neighbour uses a small pipe wrench
whatever you use be SURE it's off the shaft BEFORE you engage !!!
I took machine shop in college. . . A guy in the night class decided to save time and put a micrometer on piece of pipe he was machining to get the outside diameter.

While it was still spinning in the lathe.

It pulled out his 3 fingers with the tendons still attached at the knuckle and slung them about 40 feet through the air, hitting the back wall of the shop. It was horrible.
He was left with his little finger and a thumb on that hand.

As stupid as some things sound, people still do them.

When I was a rookie machinist we got a new hire (supposedly experienced) machinist out from New York.
He was a know-it-all on EVERY subject, and claimed the he miked spinning parts all the time.
About half of us tried to talk him out of it, the other half bet money that he couldn't do it.
With about 30 of us watching, he attempted it....
the mike grabbed, broke 3 of his fingers, dislocated his thumb, broke the mike in half, and destroyed the part. Not sure what was louder, the mike parts being thrown around in the machine, or his screams of pain.
He pushed a broom & cleaned out chip pans till his hand healed.
I shouldn't admit this, but it was actually pretty funny to watch. 😉
Took him a year to pay off all the bets he lost.

My mother had a statement she'd say every once in a while. "If he was half as smart as he thinks he is, he'd be twice as smart as he really is."

The one I heard was "if you could buy him for what he's worth, and sell him for what he thinks he's worth, you could retire".

I used to tell my son when he was young,

"Don't do stupid things, and stupid things won't happen."
