How do you tell it is Springtime in the Rockies?
1. You change your snowblade and back blade to FEL and brush hog and take off your chains.
2. Within a week you put your snowblade and back blade back on because a snow storm is predicted.
3. You shovel snow off the deck while wearing sandals.

While it seems funny, I understand completely what you are saying. In June of 1969 I was crossing the Rockies on US40 and we stopped at Berthound Pass. The snow was as high as the center's roof and it was in the low 30's.

Snow would almost be a nice change from the wind and rain we've been getting lately. Then again after seeing whats going on in Oklahoma and Tulsa I'll stick with what we have. And then to another extreme a huge wild fire going on in my own country in Alberta, yea I'm not complaining at all. Stay safe folks.

Yep, it was not that cold nor windy which is unusual in itself. I had just a windbreaker and a bit chilly but bearable. Something to talk about for years, lol. Even my little nieces were enthralled with the unique experience.

Just came back from a week riding the canyons in southern Utah. 90 degrees during the day.

But once I got back into Nevada this past weekend it was blizzard conditions for 150 miles. Windshield wipers couldn't keep up with the snow and ice. It has snowed every day since I got back.

Wow... I often joke that we only have two seasons here; winter and the 4th of July...

That's obviously a joke, but some of that looks pretty close!

That said, I put more pellets in the stove this morning, shortly before Memorial Day....

Been hellacious over there in Oklahoma yesterday and today. Our location in Yukon shut down at noon yesterday and sent everyone home. Was sunny most of the day here, but the storms moved in about 5 with a gully washer for an opening. Didn't last long, but started back up about a half hour ago with lots of thunder to accompany the rain.

I keep a big 'ol sagebrush growing near the house for just that very reason. Forecast for 1-2 feet of fresh snow in the Nevada mountains over the next few days, including the Memorial Day weekend, per the evening newscast. Ski areas in the Sierras have announced they will remain open through the 9th of July..............

Moved to the Alberta foothills in 96'. In 97' the only month it did not snow was January. It's a challenge living here.
