How to Remove 4-Pin LA681 Loader from L3710?

I may attempt to remove the LA681 from my L3710 for the first time as I consider similar repairs.

The steering cylinder on my L3710 has been leaking for years, and I found this thread while preparing to tackle the job myself, but I'm admittedly discouraged by your experience.

The top bar could be removed to avoid any chance of denting the hood as others have reported.

With the rear pin removed, the back should rock up and off of the lower support.

With the front pin removed, the front should rock down and off of the lower support.

It looks pretty straightforward, though remounting could be tedious...

That's good advice. This guy has been there with both styles and prefers ours (post):

The 5030 I have has the new style loader on it. It's an LA853. I believe it's the largest capacity loader Kubota offers on this series. I have a problem with it over the loader that comes on the 3710 and that is--

The 3710 had 4 pins to remove and very stable swing down legs for dismounting the loader. It usually took about 2 minutes to dismount and 3 to remount the loader.

The 5030/853 loader has 2 pins and is a LITTLE quicker in both aspects but the stabilizer legs are not adequate for the loader and the loader has to be absolutely level on dismount to get it aligned for a remount.

This was not the case on the 3710.

I don't have very much concrete available to remove the loader on and I found out the hard way the first time I dismounted the 853 in the dirt. I had to pin the loader on one side, lift it slightly and block the other side to level it before it would slide into the upright.

I never had that problem with the 4 pin mount on the 3710.

Unfortunately, I just realized that only one of my hydraulic hoses has a quick [dis]connect, so I'll just leave it on.

The removal process on mine was nothing at all like the easy process on better loaders built later. I have seen people in videos pull a couple of pins, pop some hoses off, and back out of loaders. I wish my loader worked like that. It was pretty awful, and it would still have been unpleasant if my hydraulics had been working.

Here is a video of someone figuring out how to dismount a four pin loader like ours (but without the convenient legs that the LA681 has built in) for the first time, also with no tools. With practice, two minutes as Daryl claimed above seems plausible...

... and like his, my other two hydraulic hoses have quick [dis]connects underneath, so maybe I'll be able to give this a try after all!

I don't know if that loader is attached in exactly the same way, but I know I definitely made things harder on myself by disabling the engine so I had no hydraulics. In retrospect, I would remove "accidentally disable engine" from my to-do list.

I am disappointed in Kubota's manuals. I have two Kubota machines, and both workshop manuals contain errors.
