Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it just occurred to me that I have no idea how to move my HST tractor if the engine dies. On a manual tractor I could put it in neutral and roll it up a truck ramp, etc. How do you move an HST if the engine won't run?

It will roll at least some if the treadle pedal isn’t engaged, but the transmission range selector also has neutral.

Yep just put the range in Neutral.
Never tow an HST in "gear".

Important info for ALL of us to remember!
Could be easy to forget though, in a tractor towing (pouring rain/freezing cold?) panic.

On an HST, do the same thing, put the transmission in neutral! If you have the typical 3-range Kubota HST, neutral is the position between ranges (L-n-M-n-H)

you should try to 'rock a rear' to see if it'll move easily....this also will confirm you've released the parking brake....;)
