I have a L5030HST and a 4' tiller left behind from a much smaller tractor I used to own. Anyone see any issues running this small a tiller slowly with a slip clutch? I am not sure what the rating is as it is old and repainted but I am sure its not rated to 50hp. Other than looking pretty silly and taking twice as long I can't come up with a reason it wouldn't work for small tilling projects. I figure the PTO clutch will save the tiller as much as the tractor but the tiller is really not worth much so I am not that concerned if it did. Sandy soil but has not been broken and might contain some surprises.

As long as you can offset it enough to cover one or the other of your tire tracks, I see no reason not to use it. A properly adjusted slip clutch will slip when the load on the tiller exceeds the setting regardless of input horsepower.

No that's way too small! You should get rid of that thing! In fact, I'll take it off your hands!:D
Seriously, other than the issues you've already considered, it should work fine.

Thanks for the feedback. Not sure I will get the offset I need but at least I can experiment. If it fails miserably I’ll ask lil foot for something in trade.:D
