8upbowhunter,
I found it in the back where it list all of the P codes. Didn't really find much about it other than that.

sheepfarmer,
I do think that tractors with the geared transmissions will regen more than tractors with hydro transmissions. You can run the hydro models at the higher RPMs and be able to control your speed with the peddle, where if you have a geared tractor you will have to lower the RPMs while trying to slow down.

I have set my RPMs at 1,800 and tried doing FEL work and using the foot throttle when I needed to go faster, but the tractor still regen around the 12 hour mark. This is on my L3901DT

Thanks again, I have done the same thing doing loader work which makes it hard to make small movements with the loader most likely due to my inexperience. I would be ok with 12 hr intervals on regens, I will see how this plays out and if it eventually throws a code.

Hmm, the whole thing is a puzzle...I do not run mine at high rpm all the time, and using auto throttle to run back and forth to the back pasture with loads of manure it goes from 2600 while traveling to about 1400 or lower when dumping the loader and resetting. The hand throttle sets the lower rpm in auto throttle. This is because I hate clanging my bucket around. This is its main use,and the regen freq is 25 or 30 hrs, about 4 times a year. I do see the particles graph climb when I do a lot of fiddly loader work, and no doubt idling pushes it up, eg hooking up implements. But never to every 5 hrs. Knock on wood.

My L4701F gear drive has had regenerations at 5--25--42--52 hours. It burns 2 times the amount of fuel as my old 1998 Massey Ferguson 231. The gearbox is scary noisy. It weighs a 1000 lbs less. Kinda wish I had spent some money on my 231 and kept it. No draft and no leveling box on lift arm. All that glitters is not gold.

I don't find mine uses all that much fuel even doing regens every 5 hours, but I don't have anything to compare to either. Gearbox here is not noisy enough to cause me any concern so I guess it's not very noisy.

Are you saying the FEL doesn't have float?

How many hours are you getting to a gallon?

No, mine has no FEL and it's 2 wheel drive. I am talking about the the three point hitch has no draft. I don't know exactly how many gallons per hour I am using. I am comparing it to my Massey ferguson 231 I had previous to this tractor for 20 years. It burns twice as much fuel.

Yesterdays regen came at 27.5 hours, 6.4 hours since the last regen. After it was done, I used the manual throttle to set the idle at 1,500 rpm's and used the foot throttle and ran it at pto speed for the most part and let it come down to 1,500 rpm's instead of the normal 900 rpm's or so when needed. I will try this and see if that changes anything. So far the regens have been flawless and only take 12-15 minutes to complete so I really can't complain.

I haven't had much seat time lately, but I did experience my first regen cycle. It was at 32.0 hours and took less than 10 minutes to complete. I let it run while I was doing some loader work, running at PTO speed, and I didn't notice any adverse effect on power. So far, so good!

My first one was in the low 30's I think. Now I have 70+ hours and have not had another one. I have only run highway diesel and 90% of the time has been in the PTO range.

Did it ever improve with highway fuel? I know some local gas stations will sell low sulfur diesel (500ppm) vs ULSD (15ppm)at the off road pump even though they aren't supposed to be.

Follow up: I forgot to post about it when it occurred, but I had my second regen at exactly 52.0 hours. It was done in about 10 minutes and I just kept going, but did bump up the RPM when the light came on.

I have been doing most of my work around 2K RPM, and a couple of hours at PTO speed. The tractor really doesn't sit and idle much, which I think is a big help.

I’ve got 25 hrs so far and no regen yet. Probably half that time has been at PTO speed. Another quick question, is the L4701 turbocharged?

Guess I have been lucky or something’s wrong lol. I am at 46.4 hours with no regeneration as of yet. Run mostly at pto rpm or 2100 when using backhoe .

Another update, last regen was 23hrs since the previous one. I am currently at 29hrs now since that regen so the intervals are still getting longer.
