How I got a LP 3rd FUNCTION ON MY B2601 for $295: BX2822A 55" Commercial Snowblower BX2822 Hydraulic Chute Diverter ALTERNATIVE KIT

Thank you to the Forum....this has been great for me.

Folks were saying "GET THE THIRD FUNCTION". Here is how I cut the cost of the third function to $295:

I wanted the hydraulic chute diverter for my 55" BX2822A Commercial Snowblower, price $1079. PLUS you have to deal with an electrical switch on the joystick if you go this route.

So instead, my dealer is purchasing the PARTS for from the BX2822 kit so that it can be used with a 3rd function. Total of parts is $617, savings of $462. The PARTS are outlined in RED in the picture below. There is a diverter and electrical harness that are not necessary if you have a 3rd function already on the tractor. Additionally, I added a photo showing an install with PARTS YOU DONT NEED and are paying for if you already have a third function.

The cost of the Land Pride 380-152a 3rd function kit installed is $757. Substracting the $462 savings, I'm getting the third function for $295.

So the snowblower diverter operation will be easier and smoother to use without the "box switch" mounted down the joystick I believe.

Grateful for all the help.

VERY much appreciate the advice and help here. I'm getting a better configuration with the help here.

I honestly think they should offer the "cheaper" hydraulic chute deflection setup my dealer and I configured as kit for people that have a third function for $462 LESS that the current $1079. Folks are purchasing parts they don't need, plus adding an unnecessary switch to the joystick if they already have a third function.

David.

I have the 48" commercial blower, I also have a 3rd function kit installed by dealer just "because". The box switch for the hydraulic chute is mounted to the dash.....at least on my install it is.....

3rd function is on the stick

Just figured I would throw that out there.

Some of that sounds like corporate finance 🥴, but congrats!
What I'm trying to say is people are buying the entire kit and wasting money if they already have a third function on their tractor. The hydraulic chute deflector kit is overpriced because it includes things that people with a third function do not need.

If you purchased the hydraulic deflector shoot, you purchased a diverter and things you really didn't need, about $500 worth of parts. That's the point I'm trying to make to save people some money. Additionally you really didn't need that extra switch because you had a third function, so why add more buttons that aren't needed?

I don't believe I did. The dealer told me there was some overlap in the kits and that is why it made sense to do both at the same time, the price for the 3rd function and deflector were less in reality than the two elements priced separately initially. Plus with the 20% equine discount it was a no brainer.

Still a good callout for those doing both at the same time

I have never heard of the 20% equine discount. Is that a Kubota "hidden discount" for horse farms? thanks

I added a picture, and highlighted the parts that are needed. The diverter and the electrical harness and switch in the cockpit are not needed if you have a third function.

Does that help?
Where is the picture? I can't find it in this thread. thanks

Look at the pictures....these we gotten from someone who had the chute deflector delivered, INSTALLED with the full kit, then had the dealer come out and REMOVE the unnecessary parts. If you paid around $1,079 for the chute deflector, and you already had a third function, you over paid. I am just trying to get others to not overpay for the kit. It's like $500 over priced if you have a third function.

Not sure how hidden it is/was as it is mentioned fairly often in the Buying forum here. Anyone can join an equine org and get the discount, but we actually have a horse and my wife is a member of many orgs so we easily qualified.

I called my dealer today to ask about it, and he said you have to belong to a recognized equine organization for at least one year, before it applies. Also said that it is 10% discount

Well sounds like they changed it for 2021 then. It was 20% and it was amazing. Luckily we have belonged to equine groups for years........it was about damn time the horse paid me back.

The 20% really added up for me as it was on the implements purchased with the tractor as well :)

No this sounds legit, my wife will explain how she saves money every time she goes shopping - this makes about the same amount of sense - lol.

My head is still spinning from trying to figure out what you actually paid!

When it was all over, what was your actual out of pocket cost?

I was surprised that they installed an electrically controlled diverter valve on the chute and a switch on the stick. Money aside, what a pain during operation. I just assumed they would use my existing 3rd function. One of these days I need to see what it will take to disconnect the system and just use the third function directly. Sometimes being a new tractor owner is a pain - 'cuz you don't know what you don't know until after the $$ fly the coop.

If you have a third function, you don't need the hydraulic chute defector kit that costs $1,079. You only need a subset of the parts in that kit plus two hoses to conduct to the third function and that is $617. Out of pocket $617 to get the hydraulic chute defector.

I guess the kit covers Machines with and without a third function set up . They really should have two kits , one kit for machines that have third function available, and one kit for machines without a third function.

The photo at the top of my post is from an owner who had a third function and had the hydraulic chute deflector installed . He did not like the setup with the extra electrical switch . The dealer came out and modified his snowblower removing electrical switch and the diverter upfront .

And I agree, the number one reason I wanted this setup was for the operation to be smooth and not clunky . So I tried to beat down the cost a bit . I think this is a true cost savings for other Kabota owners if they knew it upfront .
