I've got a BX2660

Looking to get a used 6' aerator. Haven't seen it, but the guy said it weighs around 600lbs, maybe a little more.

Is this too heavy?
Advice?

I would say you are ......maxed out!
It might pick it up - but that is a good bit of weight!
You have weight on the front end? Hope so.

My worry is, if you can pick it up - could you in fact use it? that width is rather wide!

Don't know what the lifting capacity of your tractor is, but if you are near the max, something to consider:
My neighbor borrowed a sort of combination disc/harrow/plow sort of thing that was too big for his tractor- he could barely lift it when it was clean, and could not lift it at all when it got loaded with mud/dirt.

I have a BX2660 that I use a 48" aerator on with about 200 lbs of ballast added. I do not have the front weighted down and I notice some issues on hillsides. If you carry that much weight on the three point you will need to load the front.

Ask the seller if you can come by and give it a test lift. Or get the model # of the aerator, and google it, to see if you can find the actual weight. Aerators don't take much hp to pull, but the weight thing can make steering hell...:D:D
