A couple of the controls on my BT 900 don't seem to be as strong as they used to. Specifically the bucket curl. I remember it would pull so hard it would tilt up the front of the tractor, now it seems to bypass under a tough job. What's the procedure to figure out if the cylinder is bypassing internally, or if it's a valve issue of some sort?

I will resist the urge to link the title of this post to presidential politics...

That being said, I'd check the manual, first, to see if there is a trouble shooting tree. Next thought would be to check the relief valve. Just my idle thoughts...:D:D

Is it a relief valve for the whole tractor, or is it separate for the backhoe? Unfortunately I do not have workshop manuals. I do all the work on this thing I should invest in some, unless they are available online?

You will have to speak with someone with a manual, or actual experience with this tractor. In this case, my knowledge is general. Hang on, there will be other replies, as time goes by...:D:D

It seems whatever was going on worked itself out. After a hour or so of use its back to normal, must have been a sticky valve or similar. It hadn't got much use the last couple years maybe that contributed to something

Maybe there's a tad of water in the system and the cold caused it to become ice, then it warms up and thaws the ice.

Just throwing darts at the board, but at least it's working again!

That stump is about the size of the tractor portion of my TLB, took about 5 hours some by hand, most with tractor and a final yank with my pickup and a recovery strap. Finding and cutting the tap roots of the 30" Doug fir was the big challenge.
