I have b8200 we had the heads machined and did the head gasket. The issue is we have the copper washers between the head and ejectors keeps leaking. We have changed the crush washers and the leaks keep coming back. Does anyone have any ideas?
No but I will, thanksInjectors should be threaded into the head, right? No hold down bolts. Is it more than one that's leaking? When the head work was done (or at some point in the past maybe) were the seats in the bores dinged up while trying to get one or more of the old washers out? My experience with injector gasket leaks that couldn't be stopped by the usual means ended up being scratched seal surfaces in the head itself. Have you examined closely for that?
Thanks, I will look for scratches on the headNot much to add but be sure to clean out the bores with a steel wire brush that will get the entire bottom of the bore (square cut) then vac out the bores with a tube connected to your shop vac. Proper torque on the hold down nuts and you should be good to go.
Don’t add additional washers as it will affect the spray pattern of the injector.
Yes we areI'm just a lame brained no nothing regarding your question...but could you put a standard washer in front of the crush washer so it is more forcibly crushed, to seal things better?
Not sure why this should be necessary though...are you tightening the injectors the required amount? Again just questions and no answers....
