Help installing Tachometer Assembly

I have an L1801 grey market and bought new tach. assembly that attaches by injector pump. When I get ready to install the new tach. assembly:

1. Do I need to put grease inside the assembly?
2. Do I need a gasket for where it installs on the engine? If I do, what kind of gasket.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

You can use black rtv to seal the surfaces. Just make sure and clean the surfaces. I didn't put any grease in when i did mine, wouldn't hurt though

Graphite is the best lubricant for cable drives. Grease can get stiff in the cold.

As always my husband and I thank you for your help. The hardest part was removing the existing tach drive, After that assembly went smooth and IT WORKED!!!!! Thanks
