Help - hydraulic connector seized? What to do?

So spring has finally arrived and I've disconnected the snowblower and want to put my FEL back on the BX24. One of my hydraulic hose connections (red, if it matters) seems to be "seized".

I can, of course fit it on, but can't get the ring to drop and secure. I can't move the "button/valve" inside either (sorry - don't know the correct terminology, but I'm sure someone does!!). The other connectors and button valves all move freely. I suspect that the little valve inside is seized. I've released pressure a number of times in all directions with all controls.

I've tried some WD40, a whack or two against the loader to try to get it to release, but no joy.

Unless someone can suggest something else to try, the only real alternative I see is to "steal" a valve from one of my other implements and swap heads. Can I do this? Do I use plumbers tape to make sure the connector head screw doesn't leak (I assume it just unscrews - it looks like it.)

Can't get a lot of help these days with COVID, so this needs to be a self-repair!!

I'll assume you're talking about the male end of the hose connected to the loader. You may have a pressure build up in the hose preventing you from depressing the pin. Doubtful that's its seized. If you slowly loosen the quick connector from the hose, that will probably release the pressure enough to connect it.
No to the plumbers teflon tape..... hydraulic pumps and valves don't like it! Just use a pipe dope.
I'd probably try putting a rag over it and giving the pin a whack with a soft faced hammer first.

I found a solution...I kept going back to what I'd read..."hydraulic lock" more than anything else seemed to keep being stated as the usual cause.

So, on the attachment side I very - ever so slightly - loosened one of the nuts on the red hose down at the bucket...got a few drops of fluid out and...presto! The inside of the connector released.

New to me...but I suspect not to others!

So, in that vein...when I turn the BX24 off and I know I'm going to change attachments, is it best to immediately move all the levers to release hydraulic pressure?

Yes. Whenever I switch attachments I always cycle the lever to relieve all pressure. Makes attaching so much easier.
