So spring has finally arrived and I've disconnected the snowblower and want to put my FEL back on the BX24. One of my hydraulic hose connections (red, if it matters) seems to be "seized".
I can, of course fit it on, but can't get the ring to drop and secure. I can't move the "button/valve" inside either (sorry - don't know the correct terminology, but I'm sure someone does!!). The other connectors and button valves all move freely. I suspect that the little valve inside is seized. I've released pressure a number of times in all directions with all controls.
I've tried some WD40, a whack or two against the loader to try to get it to release, but no joy.
Unless someone can suggest something else to try, the only real alternative I see is to "steal" a valve from one of my other implements and swap heads. Can I do this? Do I use plumbers tape to make sure the connector head screw doesn't leak (I assume it just unscrews - it looks like it.)
Can't get a lot of help these days with COVID, so this needs to be a self-repair!!
