Dear Guys,

I recently bought a 2003 B2910 tractor, in great shape, shed kept, that has a mower deck plus an LA 402 loader. This tractor was used almost exclusively for mowing, and the loader was used very little. It is in almost perfect shape, with two small patches of paint worn off inside the bucket, and the big tooth attachment bolted on the edge. All hydraulics are perfectly tight.

I want to sell the loader, with the controls, but I have no idea how to price it. I can't find anywhere on the internet where these loaders are beings sold separately, either new or used. I guess I could sell the undermount carriage with it, but that would mean I would have to remove the mower by myself, remove the under mount, and then re-install the mower by myself. This would be very hard to do, but I guess I would try it if this is the only way to sell the loader.

I need advice please. Is there a market for these loaders separately? What should I ask for it. (About 2 months ago, I saw a brand new one, in wooden crate, advertised for sale in Texas, for $2,400. Have no idea whether that was normal price or not.)

Thanks for all input and advice.

First off, hello and glad your here. hope you jump right in and become a valued part of the "orange" community.

Now, usually this isn't the way we hear things. often it is where do I find one. In reality, to get full price out of it, all the needed parts should be present. this would include the sub-frame as well. They really strengthen the tractor and one with a loader but without the sub-frame I would think would be asking for problems. can the loader even be mounted without it?

how long have you owned the tractor? many folks swear they couldn't make it without one. If you don't mind me asking, why did you spend the extra money to buy a tractor with a loader if one wasn't needed?

As soon as you sell it, you'll have a need for it.
If you ever sell your B in the future, the loader will add value and make it more marketable. If you split up the loader/frame parts none of them will be worth what they are together.

Yes, i didnt even touch on that. Thats the first thing folks around here ask, "got a loader?" They bring a premium and don't stay on the market long either. I suppose we're just trying to advise you to deeply and thoroughly consider all aspects of having this tractor combination. Really wish I had a loader one one of mine.

Dear Guys,

Thanks for all the advice. I understand some wisdom in keeping the loader.

I used to have a 45 acre place, and had a JD 850 with a loader. It handled everything.

I retired and moved to my present house, and sold that tractor with the 45 acre place.

I now just live on a 3 acre lot, all grass, with my house in the middle. The only thing I need to do is to mow, and maybe in the future to buy a tiller.

I was not looking to buy a tractor as large as the B2910, but my local dealer had one that he had purchased from another dealership where it was traded in. It only had 435 hours on it, was shed kept, and came with the front loader, and a 60 inch underbelly mower. The tractor was used almost exclusively for mowing. The power take off has never had any equipment hooked to it. The tractor and all equipment looks excellent and they replaced all belts and put new blades on the mower.

I only paid $10,000 for the whole thing. It all runs great.

But, I just don't need that loader at all, and would like to get some money back quickly. Two of my neighbors have Kubotas with front end loaders, and if I ever need one, I can just borrow theirs.

I live in the Shenandoah Valley, where there is still lots of medium and large agriculture. Horse farms, cattle farms, dairies, chicken houses, corn fields etc.

The Kubotas with front end loaders are very very popular here.

I was thinking that maybe the best prospect for buying my loader would be someone who already has a tractor and loader, and has just plain worn out his loader. (If so, he would already have the undermount.)

So, that is my situation and why I am selling.

Any ideas on what I should ask?

Thanks, Mannyrock

eric that number was given to me as one that would fit my tractor, the lb402 and the la450 ,,, im no tractor expert "yet" im having trouble finding concrete info on this stuff,, i just need a loader for my 2001 kubota L3000f,, even if one has to have a plate made or a bracket or something i can do it being a decent welder, fabricator,,, but i would love to just bolt the correct one onto my tractor without breaking the bank.ill keep looking around until i get one even if it takes years,,
