My B9200 has the small rectangular headlights ( 2" X 4 3/4" ). Neither one works, because the PO screwed-up the bulb sockets.

I'd like to replace them with a more modern light. Has anyone here done this upgrade?

I think that even if I got what I have working, they will not be bright enough.
If I went to a halogen bulb, they'll pull too much on my charging system.

Kinda at a standstill on this.

I'm working on my B7510DT's working light right now.
Almost done but as you are worried, I'm worried about power consumption too.

I've bought 2 sets of driving light from Princess Auto. and it has 55 watts of halogen lamp in it. 55 Watts / 12 Volts = 4.58 Amps. for each lamp. but it is really, really bright though.
so if I'm using front lights only it will withdraw 10 Amps at a time.
4.58 Amps x 2 lamps = 9.16 Amps. and for Fuse, 9.16 Amps x 1.6 = 14.7 Amp fuse to use...!

But once Dynamo kicks in to generates power... it would be around 14 Volts.
So it will be around 3.9 Amps each. but I don't have any specs for Dynamo.:(

Well, it might drain the battery time to time but I will use only one set of light at a time. 'cause I have set of Front light, and set of Rear light, interior light too. So, I have to use them with caution...

As "Ob1" said, should use relay too.:p It will be a lot cheaper to buy lamp kit which comes with everything you need...

Oh, one tip for everyone... I've used trickle charger with timer everyday on my 1992 Grand Marquis for 3 hours per day... and that car is not driven for a few years. and it has the battery that has been changed in 1999 or so.
and it never gave me trouble on battery yet. I could start engine any time I want...;) So, I'm going to do same thing on my Kubota too.

Good luck.

Joe.
