I'm looking for a Kubota tractor for my acreage. I've thought about bringing in a 20ft container. Any words from the wise? Bad Idea?? Any models i should stay away from?

Thanks!!:)

Vic did a long post a few months ago about what is involved in getting a container load. As I recall, something like $100,000 and a LOT of work unpacking and assembling the units.

Well I called a tractor yard in Japan. A 40ft container on average is 6-7 million yen, and fits 16-18 tractors. Shipping is about $5000.00 . The guy I spoke with lived in Vancouver for quite a few years. He knew all about Canada! I'm not sure if its worth it at this point.

A few of us could get together and purchase a container full. It would reduce the individual upfront cash outlay. I've never liked buying things sight unseen though! I've gotten my ass bitten too many times on things I HAVE seen!!:(

¥7M is just about $87,000 USD. With shipping at $5,000 we can go ahead and just say $90,000.

At 18 tractors per container, it's running $5,000.00 per tractor. That doesn't include assembly. This all begs the question, what make and models are we talking about here. If it's for a container of tractors less than 10 years old this would probably be a great investment.

I wonder what a container of old b6000-7000s would run, and whether it would be any cheaper. For my money those old tractors are where the value really is.
