hard to start at operating temp

i have an l3650 that is hard to start when it has been used for a while.i have to grind on the starter and it smokes but when cold(warm or very cold weather)could i have a bad injector or injector pump.dumbfounded in east texas.happy new year to all

What's your compression when it's hot?

I always like to start with the free repairs (or at least inexpensive) for the first guess.
Wire brush, clean tighten both ends of both battery cables and battery posts.
If that doesn't get it, check the valve adjustment. So you might have to buy a battery terminal brush, valve cover gasket and feeler gauges.
