Someone once pointed out to me that if you advance HAL by one letter each, the result is IBM. Presume Clarke had that in mind? Also have found some good 2001 soundboard sites like this one: https://www.soundboard.com/sb/hal_2001_space_odyssey

I downloaded them to use instead of the Windows sound effects (used Daisy, Daisy for computer shutdown, for example). Had to discontinue because it was freakin my wife out a bit.
