Half life of brownies

My cookbook says these brownies wil last 2-3 weeks when stored in an air tight container. That has to be a typo because my experience is the half life of brownies is closer to 2-3 hours.....

While I have never experienced it myself, I always assumed the half life of a brownie depended upon what was in it!

I wasn't referring to walnuts above. I do know in my case brownies with walnuts have a very short half life.

Then next 4 hours , upper hernia would remind me I should NOT EAT CHOCOLATE....sigh

They'd last a long time if I was the only person around. However, my daughter and the grandkids would wipe them out pretty fast.

Forgot to add…we have two boys…er…young men that both play sports in college and weigh in at over 215 each.

When wifey makes things like cake, pie and sweet/cookies….the half life is usually 5-10 minutes or less…

I understand that situation well- half my stomach is protruding above my diaphragm. The hernia is probably a big contributor to the fibrosis that has destroyed my lungs. The surgeons tell me a hernia repair (fundiplication) is an easy fix as soon as I am suitably recovered from the lung transplant

In the mean time 20mg of OTC omeprazole taken twice daily has effectively eliminated the acid reflux symptoms. Bring on the brownies!!!

I was told that since I can still burp, it's not bad enough, yet.
Suppose to not have caffine, chocolate,bacon or eat 3 hrs before bed.
Histoplasmosis took out 1/4 my lungs 5 decades ago...
yup, getting old SUX !!!

If you want to treat your acid reflux, stop drinking coffee and eating acidic food. The esophagus repairs itself in 90-120 days.

I'm not a MD, but I've watched some MDs on YouTube that suggest that you can have heartburn from having too little acid in your stomach. As we get older, the issue gets more pronounced.

I added Apple Cider Vinegar pills to my list of supplements, and I no longer need to take omeprazole. NOTE: I stay mostly on a Keto type diet because I feel better when I do.

I found out the same thing happens with jerky when the grand kids show up. Forget about any kind of sealed container!
