And this guy- not particularly big, (2 3/4" - 3") but he fits in nicely with the upcoming holiday.

I have three bird feeders at my place in the hills, and some of the local birds are pretty picky, throwing 30-40% of the mix on the ground, to get to their preferred seeds. Then the chipmunks, squirrels, deer, and javelina come in and clean it up.
This guy showed up as a single (pretty unusual, they usually run in packs) and stayed. He beds down behind one of my firewood racks, several days straight. You can see his "collar" now that he has his winter duds on. (they are "Collared Peccary")
He stayed maybe 30ft from me, so he is pretty acclimated to people. When startled, the hair goes up on his back, (4-5") and he barks, very similar to a dog's deep "wuff". He is 35-40lbs.
I started calling him "Bacon Boy".

He apparently left when the snow hit, did not see him after that.

The other visitors were these birds, that the local bird expert said were Grey Catbirds, on a migration south.
I only got quick phone pics through the windows/screens, then Bacon Boy walked in and they all left before I could get the good camera out.
The photos are a little deceiving, the flock on the ground was maybe half of the whole flock, the rest were in the trees, then they would swap places. I would guess 200 birds total.
For scale, that feeder is about 18" tall.

Ruger wanted me to move to Prescott, AZ but it was the spiders among other things that was a deal breaker.

I get deer of all sorts under the kitchen window looking for sunflower seeds that the birds kick out with abandon. Also turkeys, huns (hungarian partridge), and raptors.

That's funny, around here, they want the sunflower seeds and kick out almost everything else. :)

There are several levels of the food chain in the back corner of the property.
