It is winter and still keeping up on maintenance. I have a lot of grease ooze and attempted to wipe it up with a rag, just seems to smear it around. Tried decreaser but same thing. I tried a bit of diesel on a rag and that works about the best but I am worried about the powder coat.

Any winter tricks? Will diesel hurt the finish on the tractor.

I take an old toothbrush and scoop up as much as possible, wipe it on a rag and keep going - and then I remember to grease "less" (two trigger pulls)

As far as hurting the finish - neither will hurt the finish - unless you bathe it in it!:D:)

I wipe off as much as I can , then I use WD40 to clean off the smears. Works great and it won't hurt the powder coat .

Just leave it be, its not hurting anything. A little grease ooze shows a well maintained tractor, being washed off arises suspicion. Was it maintained?

Thanks! Thought I'd heard that before, but didn't want to lead the OP astray!!:eek:

I just wipe the extra grease off, and haven't tried the WD40 thing...

When i grease i always have something to clean up the excess. A couple pumps will replenish grease, but several more will flush out contaminants.
Wd40, deep creep liquid wrench will all cut the greasy residue.
