Bayview Township
Township road has a 15 ton limit and 25mph speed limit. No logging trucks are allowed. Township has designated gravel roads for the loggers. Doesn't stop the logging trucks. They just run before sunrise. No law enforcement available even if you called. They fly up the road empty. You can hear the chains and whatever rattling a good 1/4 mile away. Then they crawl and engine brake downhill with full loads. End result is me having a mile of washboard road to drive on before reaching the highway. The good. It keeps the tourist who are in a rush to the trail heads driving within the speed limit. They have another 3/4 mile of "fun" road to experience. And insures a dust covered SUV, truck. My driveway is at a high point a mile up from the highway. Was considering grading the washboard surface on the hump. But then I thought. Reduced speed usually means less dust for my neighbors who built their homes too close the road. And less chance of a head on. You cannot see oncoming traffic until just before you crest the hump. Collision with a logging truck wouldn't be fun.
