Grass Build Up Under Deck

I love my ZD mower, but every other time I cut the grass, I have to crank it up, and get the putty knife, and clean all the grass buildup out. Never had any previous mowers do this anywhere near this bad.
Any solution?

They make a number of things you can spray on a clean deck to limit grass buildup. From what I've read, the majority of them are ineffective. I would either cleanup the underside of the deck, prime and paint with a high gloss paint or prime and paint with one of the graphite paints for mower decks. Also, never cut grass when it's wet as that will build up no matter what you have to prevent it.

I always make sure it's dry, worse if damp. Just never seen any of my other mowers do it any where near this bad.

Easy... just never cut grass until midafternoon.... ANY dampness will allow the clippings to 'matt' and if left WILL rot out the deck.
I've repaired/replace dozens of decks for riders over the years for neighbours, yet my 22 year old CC deck is in great shape
