The maintenance schedule in my Grand L6060 owners manual indicates changing the engine oil and filter at 50 hours which I have done. However the next scheduled engine oil and filter change is not until 400 hours. This seems to be a lot of hours. Is this correct or should I change it sooner?

As always this is a personal choice, my view is also based on time, I don’t put a lot of hours on my tractors so 400 hours could take 8-10 years, I like to change my engine oil every 100 hours or no more than 24 months. A good quality oil and OEM oil filter is not a large cost, better to over maintain in my opinion.

I pay no attention to meter hours on engine oil changes, I change yearly, every spring and use a top tier oil (Rotella T6 and a Kubota filter). I send in an oil sample and it always comes back fine and Blackstone tells me I can 'run it farther' With 6000 and 3000 hours on the tractors and no issues, I'd say all is good. Just because the oil is dark don't mean it's shot. What that really means is the additive package is doing it's job, keeping the contaminants (by products of combustion) in suspension and keeping the insides clean. I probably run 500 Plus hours yearly on each of them, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Yeah not much to do at 100 although I’ve heard reports of front axle case oil being low - even new and just delivered by dealer. I had a grease zerk on the BH upper pivot pin that wouldn’t take grease and after 10 hrs developed some squealing when swinging boom. Ended up to be plugged grease passage. Had to tighten up a few leaking fittings too. If this is your first GL make sure to follow Paul Shorts steering boot fix - mine was pulling through with only 3 hrs on tractor. Indeed, that is the recommended interval but it is only a guideline.
I changed mine at 50 hours and will change it again this fall at somewhere around 175 hours as it has been two years.

Much smaller tractor, but I do my BX every year with about 50 hours.
As I was doing other services, that should have been today, if I had a filter......GRRR...
A tractor used commercially can easily have 1,000 hours operation time per year. Most of us don’t do that, so every year or two makes more sense to me.

When my 2022 Grand L was delivered it came with a manual dated 2014. I later purchased a service manual and it was dated 2016 and of course had revisions. One item I noted at the 50 hour service requirements was the deletion of changing the hydraulic (suction) filter. The hydraulic filter (HST), smaller and heavier one, was still changed in addition everything else that was previously stated. I know filters are cheap, but wondering what others thought about this? Would you just change both hydraulic filters or adhere to just what the latest service manual 50 hour requirements are?

The MX owner's manual has a 400 hour oil change interval, and the M6060 owner's manual lists a 500 hour oil change interval. I decided to go with a 200 hour or two year oil and filter change interval for both. I have no data to support my decision, but it seems reasonable.
I found conflicting information for my L47, one place said 400hrs, then another said 200hrs, so I keep it under 200hrs.
I had my rotator cuff surgery, and had lots of down time and watched lots of professional mechanic engine rebuild video's. It was amazing how people would abuse their engines with lack of oil changes.
