Thinking about getting a 72” Land Pride grading scraper.
Anyone running a GS2572?
Often with some of these implements you need the proper weight for them to work correctly.
Can the 3901 handle the 25 series or should I stick with the 15 series

I looked at the specs....
unit weighs 775#, tractor 3PH can list 1600 # ?
should be a good 'combination'
might need weight on front end of tractor, unless loader is up there...

hopefully someone with that combo will reply soon but it seems 'ok' on paper...

When it comes to rear blades, heavier is always better providing your 3ph can handle it. You can always take smaller bites, but cannot do much to make a light duty blade work well. Also, I consider offset capability to be a must. Off set capability means pulling a pin and offsetting, not having to unbolt the mold board and move it.

I can not speak of that combination, but I do have L3901 with GS1572. On our driveway, I have one area that is fairly steep and I always have to lessen my bite or I start to dig into the ground and spin instead of pulling through it. For me, I'm getting good results with the 15 series.

I use the GS2572 with my L2501 HST and R4 loaded rear tires. I've do a section of our unmaintained community road and my driveway with loader and bucket, without the bucket, and without the loader and bucket. I also have the QH15, so quite a bit of weight. The elevation is around 4000-4500 ft.

It works great no matter if I have the loader and bucket, without loader, or without bucket. I don't have traction issues, but I run 4WD. I also use it on the back for ballast. It works great for that as well. The roads are hilly. I use M both uphill and downhill although I have to back off the treadle pedal to go up hill with a full GS.

Weight is helpful to keep it cutting the washboards or to use the scarifiers to fix potholes etc. Btw, I've had it about 15 months, and it's used regularly.

On word of advice, do locktite the bolts that hold the scraping blade onto the frame. Mine came loose all of the time (almost every use) before using locktite.
