I have 6' grader blade and I want to modify it and make it an 8 footer. I only have $275 in the implement and it has multiple adjustments. I'm thinking it'll be cheaper than buying a new 8 footer. It'll have to take it to a machine shop since I don't have any welding skills. Has anyone ever attempted this? Any and all comments and suggestions welcome.

What are you going to use the 8' blade for? If you put too much blade behind your tractor, and then angle the blade, your tractor will not pull it straight (when loaded with material) forward but turn the tractor as you try to move forward.

Go find a CL 7' and be happy!:D

I want to extend my reach beyond my tires when angled. Many of our roads have deep ditches and I don't want to put my tires close to the edge.

I have an L3901, same tractor as the L3800 and I pull a landpride rb3784 offset blade behind it and it's all the tractor can do to pull it when it's loaded up. It's actually enough to pull the tractor sideways when the blade is angled or offset. I think you may have high expectations if you want to try and pull an 8ft rear blade. Not to mention that blades 3pt mount looks awful weak compared to most 7-8ft blades. You may just be best off selling it and buying what you really want.

Hey I really appreciate the feedback. I might just try to find an offset or a sliding model.
