There are different types of block heaters, so you will probably have to be more specific with your question.

In general, pics also help.

Is this a factory kit that you bought, or an aftermarket one?

I’ve not bought one yet. Trying to determine which one to buy and the complexity of installing it. From another poster I understand one can be installed in the hose (easier job) or in the block (harder job). But how hard I don’t know yet.

Surpisingly, there is not much publications on this tractor.

And it goes in the frost plug on the starter side that's accessable.
Drain the coolant, use a punch or screwdriver to spin the frost plug in the hole then pull out with pliers.
DO NOT DRILL the frost plug! Many an engine has been destroyed because of doing that.

Tap the heater in place using a small hammer and board, then fill with coolant and check for leaks.

Mine is a "factory" one.

I generally plug it in about an hour'ish before I start it.

I have never looked at where it was installed though. I am only "presuming" it was installed in a "core plug" either at the factory or the dealership. (?)

I have heard of some that are in the hose, and some that attached to the oil pan, but I have no experience with them, so my comments would be "uniformed" (uninformed ;) ) on their effectiveness.

Which ”uniform” would you wear…? (or would you prefer we remain uninformed..?)

I put one in the block of my Massey Ferguson ... It should be similar process ... Mine was a factory part.

I took a punch (could use a large screwdriver) and lightly tapped one side in of the freeze plug that was specified, then grabbed the other side sticking out with a pair of pliers and pulled it out!

Mine came with a bracket that the two bolts above it hold it in place, it has a rubber O-ring that seals it in the block, I just pressed it in with my hands ...

Very easy job.
