Rant on.

Every time I want to use my grapple I have to think about it hard due to the
almost impossible to press on flat face quick connects.

Even with turning the ignition on and pressing the control switch to dump the
third function pressure its still a bear to get them on.

I was so tired from working my ass off for three days all I had left to do was to dump a large couch into a dumpster and the grapple would make it real easy. I thought just use the excavator to do it but its slow and it was a 650 yard run back and forth.

After 15 minutes of trying to push that crap on " I should of used the excavator" they finally
got connected and the tractor did its thing.

Either I need to work out with weights or get something to help with the evil
flat face connectors.

Rant off.

When you take it off connect the two lines together then they won't lock up.

I seem to recall that they make a coupler that allows for much simpler/easier connecting and disconnecting?

Sort of a "push and pull" thing where you can actually connect and disconnect while it running even.

Don't remember the name of them though.

You might check and see if they have a tool that would help? they have several different tools…might be checking to see if they have a solution for your situation / set up.

I've seen listings for "connect under pressure" flat face fittings. I don't have any experience with them. I always thought the flat face were supposed to be easier to connect than ag or iso.

My tractor and grapple have the ISO poppet type connectors. On the grapple end all I have to do is smack the male poppet against the frame and it relieves the pressure buildup if it has any. On the tractor end I just shut it off and operate the diverter valve and loader handle.

possible option ??
maybe get an SSQA 'pallet fork' ? kinda sounds like you don't use the grapple too often as it's a PITA but forks are easy, 30 seconds.

I have the Pioneer ”quick couplers” ….. (4000 series I believe which has a ball tip instead of the “tit” shown)………..and ran into the same problem. Despite relieving the pressure on the shut-down tractor (wiggling the FEL joystick)…. I still couldn’t get those damn things to re-connect….. UNTIL … I “hit” the little ball on the male couplers with a hammer to relieve the pressure on the mower. THEN it was a piece of cake.

I suspect that the flat couplers will need to be depressed with a screwdriver or such.
