Good Morning,
I have an L3301 and lately it has been starting very hard. The glow plug light comes on and goes right back out after just a couple seconds. I saw on another thread where people had the issue with it coming on for long periods of time and/or frequently during use of the tractor, but mine is coming on and going right back out. I found a listing for a glow plug relay for my model but not a controller-just wonder if its the difference in my model to theirs, or if there actually is a glow plug controller on my tractor also...
any help or experience with this issue would be much appreciated

The WSM is going to be your friend on this as I do believe the controller is the ECU, but your issue could be a temp sending unit?

IF you're electrically savvy. Manually bypass it, mines now a momentary push button. GPs are high amperage, ie a relay is REQUIRED. Also quick heating GPs, Never on long. I realize not for everyone. Yours likely has a temp sender for the gauge and a seperate sender for them, like NIW said esp electrical, a WSM is your friend. He probably knows the website, but most WSMs can be downloaded free.

You may have a short in the wire to the temp. sensor for the timer. In the meantime you can manually preheat longer by putting the tractor in gear (or whatever locks out the starter), turn the key to start for a few seconds (it won't crank but the glow plugs will heat), then put it in neutral and start.
