Hello all, new to orange tractor talks and have a question. I posted same on tractorbynet .com but as yet no replies. I have a 2002 kubota m6800 that doesn,t seem to have a glow plug indicator although it does have glow plugs. I have checked on kubota illustrated parts list electrical and one is not shown altho it shows the relay switch and plugs. Anyone know if in fact this tractor has no indicator or am I just missing it somehow. Thanks

On the lower right side of your dash do you get three lights that come on when you turn on the key?
I do believe that it should be there, possibly a burned out bulb?

Thanks for your response and yes there are three lights in that location for easy checker but they are engine oil pressure light ,alternator light and pto light. All bulbs are working

Interesting... The wiring is the same on the M9000's so maybe one of those guys can tell you more.
I don't remember who on here is lucky enough to own one...
My next Kubota will be a big M! ;)

maybe it's like my M7950 On the right side of de steering column i see a domed chrome ring. It's the glow plug indicator, Not a bulb but à resistor element. After near 10 sec. this element coming red. Turn on the glow plugs and look inside de hole of the ring.

Thanks, I went out and checked and I have no chrome ring on my steering column. I have put my glasses on and searched thouroughly ( I think) and have concluded one doesn,t exist which is totally weird considering it does have glow plugs. Don,t really need one as it has never failed to start even at 20 or so degrees. Mainly just curious as it should have one by my way of thinking.

Your tractor is new enough that it's probably automatic glow plug operation and requires no input from you besides turning the key. ;)

Welcome to OTT.

This may be a dumb question but do you turn your key right or left to activate? Kubota uses both positions.

All positions are turn right. In my owners manual there are 4 positions shown at switch although there are no correspopnding logos actually at the switch. They are off, on, preheat, and start. There is no actual stop at the preheat spot ,I just hold there a few secs and hit start.

I'm a bit late to the thread, Yes your tractor does have glow plugs, but no it does not have an indicator. Turning the key half way between on position and the start position will activate the glow plugs. I have the same issue and checked with a test light. I am going to install an indicator (12V LED) in the dash just to make sure they are getting current, it wont tell me they are working correctly, just telling me they are getting juice.
