Does anyone have one of these front mount mowers? I have a hydraulic question about them but I need someone who has one or runs one.:D

Hi Kuboman,

Throw the problem out there and maybe someone can help you out.
Well I did do that earlier but got no response but here goes again. At idle with warm oil does anyone have the problem of the mower (pto) cutting out while the mower deck raises and then reengaging as the deck tops out?
Now I know there are thousands of these units out there so I should be getting many responses.

I have been trying to find a GF model Kubota to try and see what you are talking about but I can't find one. The closest thing I can find is a G model mower. What do you have?

Check Kubota.ca. They are not sold in the USA anymore but thousands were.

My neighbor has a 20 year old G1800 and it is a three cylinder diesel lawn tractor with a mid mount belly mower. I don't think they came with a "front" mower.... or at least that is what my neighbor says. Butch

:eek:I Have a dumb question have you had someone else raise and lower the deck and you watch to see if one of the hydraulic lines may be getting pinched off as deck moves up and down? handy

I've seen these before, GF is a front cut. If the PTO is Hyd driven, and it cuts out while you lift the deck, it sounds like there is not enough hyd oil supply to run both the deck and the lift. I assume this is a new problem, and has not always happened since you got the unit. I would start with hyd filter(s), just to be sure there is an ample supply of oil. I have seen a similar problem on a front cut because the filer was damaged- it was dented in pretty bad and didnt have the right amount of oil being supplied.

I think Kubota tech is right. I was wandering if it was a hyd driven deck but if so it sounds like the lift is taking pressure away from the drive. If the filter and oil level is good I would say it's time to tap into the hyd system and do a pressure check.

It is a hydraulic clutch and everything is alright. I have tried other ones and some do the same and some don't. I was just curious as to how many are like this. It must be just a design weakness.

When you look at how it works it's not surprising that it disengages when lifting the implement. Guess it really doesn't matter much though, you usually aren't cutting when you are lifting the mower!
