Hi, newbie here. My M6800 diesel was running fine and when I was going to put it away it started sputtering and started running really bad. The idle got lower and lower until tractor quit. I replaced air filters and water separator filter now not getting fuel into water separator and I cracked an injector and not getting any fuel out of that. Any ideas on what could be the issue and any ideas to fix. Thank you.

Pull the fuel line that feeds the separator, if you have fuel there, then remove the outlet line, blow air into the outlet and see if crud comes out the inlet.
Some separators have a screen on the inlet fitting, others debri just gets stuck in the fittings.

Many yrs ago I had a fuel problem on a M4900. I checked for good fuel flow from tank to water separator which was good but fuel level in water separator would fill up. Local Kubota dealer service manager advised me to check for blockage in WS housing & especially check for a clogged screen. I located the tiny screen in water separator housing & it was clogged. I cleaned the tiny screen & fuel problem was solved.

@wolfman … this “no start” question comes up SO OFTEN…. You should create an Article providing individual Steps To Take …in appropriate Order… for each Symptom (I.E., No Crank, or White Smoke, or…. etc etc.
I suggest you make it a “Sticky” or “Announcement” which only You …(or a few whom you trust as contributors…in order that it not become a contested subject)….

A Parallel Thread could exist for the purpose of all us bumpkins to toss-out our own commentary addressing thngs….
…I would comment to ”kenruthann” For Example:

@kenruthann : Check your tank-vent or fuel cap vent by loosening or removing the cap to see if the problem disappears. If air can’t enter the tank…Fuel can’t leave it.

Had ongoing problem with M4900 where tractor would run awhile then begin starving for fuel. I would change or clean out separator filter only to have it happen again. I felt certain that I was using clean fuel. The problem soon moved to my injectors smoking. Brought injectors to shop to be rebuilt and they advised that water had passed thru them. Pulled the tank and cleaned thoroughly I thought. Long story short.....Fuel gage had not worked for some time so decided to remove and check while tank out. Removed flange on top of tank which is poly to find the float mechanism for gage (all metal) corroded to no end. Everytime I put fresh fuel in tank it became contaminated by corrosion, which settled in the separator behind the selector valve. You could blow it out backwards but it just returned to same place.
I cut the float mechanism off , primed the flange and bolted it back on. I now check fuel with a stick I have tied on tractor. Wound up having the injection pump rebuilt also. So, I learned a $2000 lesson the hard way. I now have a water block filter installed on my diesel tank and I will never put off checking a fuel problem until the next time I run it. Had 3 different mechanics miss that before I found the corrosion. I looked at a schematic of the M6800 and it seems there are two float indicators on that model. I would pull both of them because they are flanged like the M4900.

Didn't your M4900 have a separate water separator housing that was designed to catch water prior to reaching inj pump? If a large amount of water is present in fuel tank I would think water separator bowl would require emptying very regularly if engine was operated very long.
