I ended up working for my Kubota dealer full time again this spring. I finally had to quit so I could get back to being retired and take care off my stuff and have some fun. A week later the owner of the constuction company I used to operate heavy equipment for asked if i would run a dozer for him to put in a new lake. Hard to say no, and hard to stay retired!!! Rented a new D6T for a month to get eveything done. I thought members here would enjoy seeing something like this. So I will make a quick post. What a really nice machine. Cab, AC, cloth air ride seat, and really quiet. Like sitting in my pick up all day. It is a real power house also. Can really move alot of dirt in a day. Been kind of fun getting back in the groove. Here are a few picks of the machine.

Steering control for left hand. Push to go left, pull to go right. Flip switch on botton for forward and reverse, and roller thumb wheel to select gear.

Bottom dial is the throttle control, top dial is used to select to how you want the transmission to work. You can push in first gear, and then when you go to reverse select it to be in second gear automatically. Any way you want to set it up, or use it manually. Top switch is the parking brake.

Is Hydrostatic or gear drive? I have quite a few dozers, mainly John Deere because that was the closest dealer. The 650 and 750 with the hydrostatic drives are really nice for fine control of speed when grading. That’s an impressive looking machine there and I certainly wouldn’t mind spending time in the seat.

Hey BAP. They call it powershift transmission with differential steering. The guy I am working for has a JD 650 that I have spent alot of time on. Really nice machine. This Cat operates very similar to that. You have the rocker wheel to shift first, second or third, but in auto mode it goes in between those similar to the John Deere. It is not infinite between like tapping up or down on the JD, but does a real nice job. Some serious power. Stripping topsoil, I can grab a huge blade full and walk right up the pile in second gear no problem. It is a horse. We figured 4 days to strip the area, and will have it done in 2 1/2 days.

Kidd - thanks for the photos...gotta be a ball running something like that.

My house has been a challenge for years...always used to say if I ever won the Lottery I would buy a dozer to "point up" the foundation....meaning push the $%$-ing house in it.....

No risk there...I don't buy tickets....:p

While back I climbed into the cab of a big, modern JD tractor at an auction, just to look....Holy smokes all the levers, controls, etc.. only thing I recognized was the steering wheel...:p Lot different than a '53 'Moline...

RCW. You are sure welcome. It is definitely alot more fun doing now playing around then when I had to do it every day for a living. This machine is only a year or two old, and I had to get the manual from behind the seat out to figure some of the electronics and switches out. Still have some stuff to figure out and I have only been retired 5 yrs. Things change fast any more.

I really got a kick out of pointing up your foundation!! Thats funny right there now. That thing would sure do it!!

Glad you enjoyed. I thought it would be fun to post something a little different.

I had to look up Nelson Ohio. Not far from me at all. Just rode through there on my Harley last weekend. Nice area.

Friend of mine who is a crane driver has the same problem. Retired 3 years ago but he has never been so busy. He keeps getting called to jobs because the young lads can't work the cranes in delicate situations or don't have enough certification.
