i am getting gas in my oil on my zg237 mower. I think it is coming thru the carburetor. when the engine is running gas and oil is blowing thru the cylinders out of the exhaust. Can the carb on this engine (2.0L) be repaired?

If you have a pulse type fuel pump, then it could have a bad diaphragm leaking fuel inside the engine.

I'd say all carburetors can be repaired by someone. I'm not familiar with with that one, but it sounds like a stuck float which sometimes can be fixed by cleaning.

Correction on the mower model- zg327. I have taken the carb off, cleaned all the part. Have to pickup a gasket kit for it. Looked like s few of the jets may have been plugged.

It may not be solely the carburetor's fault.

There are other ways for fuel to get into the crankcase, although historically the carb is #1 on "the list".

Some of them had some fuel vapor emissions equipment that I have seen give some issue in the past.

Many times it is cheaper/simpler to replace the carburetor than to rebuild.

and there was a recall on teh very early ZG227 and possibly the ZG327 for this very issue. Worth looking into. Just call dealer with your model and serial, ask them to see if there's any applicable recalls on it.

Hey, where did you find a gasket kit for the carb? I am having the same exact problem. Did it fix your problem?

Don‘t know about a ZG237…but Mechanical fuel pumps, especially one driven by a cam-lobe, are notorious for leaking diaphragms pumping gas into the crankcase. Happened on two Fords I owned.
