Thought I would share an idea on how to level off the tops of your hills when running rows with a bedder.

I added a piece of 3" pipe to my spring tines and adjusted to correct height.

Now that I know correct placement, I plan to drill a hole through pipe and spring tine and secure in place so I can remove ty-wraps. Or I may use the assemblies that hold the spring tines to mount pipe to. I have two extras I could turn upside down and install, this would be adjustable just like the spring tines and disc blades are.

If you have other ideas please share, I will take and post some pics of what the hills look like soon.

I don't think I'd drill a hole in the spring tine. If it's flexing at all there, you're going to get cracks propagating from the hole and the tine will break. You're fairly close to the shovels where it isn't going to flex very much, but I still don't think I'd do it unless replacement tines are cheap.

Drilling the tine will weaken it and take all the drill bits you own!

Here's a simple cure. Use U-bolts, put pipe in front of tine so it will be pushing against the tine, not away from it...tried to show a bracket you can make to hold it on the tine with a u-bolt.

Agreed, drilling over time will compromise spring tine.

Another real plus to the Ubolts is you would have height and width adjustment!

Just buy shackles big enough they will angle around.
