Pretty sure that is the voltage regulator.

If you can verify that the wires out of the alternator are the same as that plugs wires you can be sure that what it is.

Look at the schematic to see also

It's all good now.

Thanks fellas!

You have just jumperd out all the safety switches. (ref above schematic) This is OK as a temporary repair... however, are you prepared for when someone gets hurt?

I cannot stress enough that you should TROUBLESHOOT the problem to isolate the issue (instead of just throwing parts at it) I already explained in previous post how to use voltmeter to locate the problem in just a few minutes.

HINT: Take "voltage drop" measurements until you locate the problem area.

Thanks Bruce for the safety reminder.
I'll take another look at the micro switches, I did see one (from the top anyway) for the PTO.
This fix is wayy better than tapping that battery post,,, I've seen one (car battery) explode, from inside the car, thankfully.

The G6200 is up in the shed, pretty tight in there. Now that it is running I can bring it down to the garage.

John, Paul, Doug....whatever your darn name is,

This is the guy that told you he’d buy your tractor for asking price, and with the current issues.

So many times I think that people have more integrity and honor than they actually do.

I don’t have a problem with you not wanting to sell the tractor, my problem is with you stringing someone along and not just telling them the truth.

What I think you want to do, is fix your problem, and sell for a higher price. If that’s it, good job. The fact that you’ve been as honest as you’ve been, I don’t want the thing anyways. I have 3.

As you said in your email, you think you have a “barn find”, good job, things are worth what someone will pay you for them. I hope you get your asking price....or you give the family crown to your boy...it might be better than the lesson in honesty you’ve taught him.

Good luck with the tractor,

Jim
