OK guys I just a few weeks ago picked up my first kubota a G4200 that came with a G2500 snowblower. The previous owner claimed he used it all the time and it was great. Well then he also claimed alot of other things that tuned out to be a lie about the tractor but thats a different story. So here is my issue this is the first time I attemted to use the blower. We had just bout a foot of fluffy snow which i was figuring no problem. I seemed to be wrong, it kept just slipping the belt on the blower evety time I inched forward so I tensioned it more with a bunjee chord and it made a couple "OK" passes but it didnt really seem to throw snow well at all then it broke the plate in the coupler. I am feeling as tho it is missing somthing on the tensioner so I ordered a manual for the blower today but I am curious am I expecting too much from this setup? Should I just give up trying to make it work and go on the hunt for a G2548? Thanks

I've had a single stage blower on a 10HP simplicity for years, and I've blown 24" of heavy snow with it.
So I would think that your set up should be fine!

Belt length and codition really plays a key role in the Good or bad operation of a blower like that, so I would suggest, get a new belt. ;)

I have the g2538a blower. The blower should be pto driven on that g4200 tractor. What belt are you talking about? Of your talking about the pair of pto belts from the engine to the pto drive then you can adjust those quite easily at the cable end. A bungee cord would not be a good fix for that. You would smoke those very expensive belts :/ a hurry if they are not properly tensioned.

Yes intensions are today to track down the right legnth belt for it. The blower is PTO driven which then drives a gear box to a belt thento a chain. That is the belt i was refering to. The PTO belts are new and adjusted properly.
