G20 R60 mower makes a grinding noise

Hey Guys! I have a 60" mower deck that started to make a grinding noise today. I removed the cover and found some silver chips in the center gearbox, so I think the drive is messed up. Unbolted the side bolts and took off the blade but the gearbox will not come off. What am I missing? I really need this mower. Any advice?

Take blade off.
There is a circlip behind the blade. Remove it. Then pull off the blade boss, the metal part that the blade 'seats' against. Then the gearbox should come off.

Can they be re-built or are you replacing it.
