Had wax coat the fuel filter of our L2501 at about +25F. :( Changed cloudy fuel and coated filter and all is good again. :) Looks like wax came out of the ULSD here around +30 to +20F.

Question is will Power Service Supplement actually stop this problem or is there another real answer. Kerosene (#1)? No #1 easily available here in pumps. We need so little to get through a couple months. Ten/twenty gallons. Obviously no such thing as winter fuel around here.

We should see no lower than +10F a couple times and +20F a few times with most days/nights above +30F. Probably only a dozen or few more times it will be below 32F in the next few months.

Thanks

GD

I would just add Power Service white. Add to non gelled fuel to lower the cfpp by about 30 deg f.

I’ve blown snow at -8F, and we’ve probably gotten to-20 since I’ve had the Kubota.

White bottle PS is all I use in winter. Never gelled (knocking on wood now).

Good deal, thanks for the replies. As you can tell it does not happen here much but it is an issue we have to deal with.

White bottle PS is on the shelf here at the auto parts store.:D

Only 20 miles from the beach bunnies but it gets cold up at higher altitude.

Thanks

I agree with the above posters.... Use PowerService (white bottle) during the winter months to prevent gelling.

In the summer, use PowerService (grey bottle) to boost cetane. Unlike 'gasoline additives'.... a cetane-booster has MEASUREABLE improvements on any diesel engine. ( easier starting, more power, and better fuel-economy)

I have one bottle of each type of PowerService which, when mixed at recommended proportions, have lasted me for many YEARS.

BTW: If you ever get gelling again in the future, the PowerService 911 (RED bottle) will INSTANTLY melt the paraffin in the fuel.

I also agree with Bruce - grey bottle off-winter season.
I do the same.

I use it year around in my bulk 1000 gallon tank and a splash of Power Service Algaecide too.

I am able to buy temp rated colored diesel from my supplier to fill my bulk tank.

-40 F and I use it year round. Sulfur level is very low @ 8 ppm. Slight price premium.

My neighbors with B's and Bx's ask me for some after running into problems and every winter they are back with their 5 gallon tanks wanting more.

$91.9 per liter in Ontario

Never need to use any additives.
