Been trying to figure out why my fuel solenoid is not functioning L2900
When i turn off tractor with key it does not activate the fuel shutoff solenoid.
I removed wire from solenoid and touched a lead wire right from battery and it works.
I put a test light on wire coming from behind dash leading to solenoid and when key is turned off it lights up test light for several seconds as expected.

It seems like there is not enough amps coming from wire under dash to activate solenoid.

Has anyone had this problem.

Thanks in advance.
Mike

sounds like a "bad" connection - check and clean bright and tight.....or a bad switch

My solution in this case ,failing the clean bright and tight rule, would be to add a spdt relay. Then the wire from dash is only a signal to activate relay.

Clean/replace your fuses too. Corrosion at fuses can affect this as well.

L4610 had corroded fuse and wouldnt shut off tractor. So worth a look as well as backside of panel. Especially if it lives outdoors.

my 3710 had bad, corroded fuse holder. I spliced in a new inline fuse holder to fix it. last week the shut down relay went out, eBay to the rescue, now it's back in business.

I have an 02 D1105 in a Toro commercial mower. The engine has been running great in use all summer. Got ready to mow and it wouldn't start. Replaced ignition switch, checked/cleaned all fuses; check all four relays (did the 5 individual tests);
Turn the key on, all lights come on, engine turns over - will not fire. I'm down to the fuel shut off solenoid. It has three wires: small red w/black stripe goes to relay, big black wire which is ground, and big white wire. Don't know where it goes. Voltage check shows red w/black stripe has power; ground (black wire) is good ground. Nothing on white wire. I disconnected the three wire plug and ran a jumper wire to the black and white wire to the solenoid and I get a click. Can the fuel solenoid click but still be bad? Anyone know how best to check this solenoid?

Thanks

That style of solenoid has 2 power inputs, one to pull the coil in and one to hold the pulled in coil.
So you should have power on the white when it is cranking, on most models the fuse for it is under the hood.
If either coil is not working the solenoid is bad and must be replaced.

If the solenoid is getting the correct electrical feeds and is still not working then you have a bad solenoid.

The amount of Kubota solenoids for sale on eBay is amazing, so it must be a common problem.

If you have gotten the solenoid wet, like from power washing, it is a harbinger for failure.

I went through three on an L3650 before I wised up.

L2900 has several possibilities.

Failing key stop timer.
Failing solenoid.
Failing/bad connection.
Fuse or fuse holder issue.
defective wiring.

In my experience, the order of commonality is listed above from most common to least.

The WSM tells how to test the key stop timer. And you can use the wiring diagram to test the wiring from the solenoid to the timer relay, and then from the timer relay to the battery.

Thanks guys; I have verified the fuel solenoid is good. I ran a jumper to black and white connectors to solenoid and the pin pulls in and stays in. The red w/black stripe wire goes to relay and y's off into wire loom. I checked the relay and it's good. The white wire goes into the wire loom. This loom is under the radiator and will be a real problem to get to. It appears the problem is between the fuel solenoid and wherever the white and red w/black stripe wire goes. I was told the solenoid doesn't have enough amps to pull in and stay in. Anyone know where these two wires go in this loom. Again, I think I'm good from the key to the relay and then to the solenoid.
Thanks
