Its called thread drift and if the OP wants the thread to remain on the intended course it is proper etiquette to honor that request.

Yes, I suppose that 80% is 100% of the recommendation, so now I wonder if all Lithium batteries are better satisfied with only an 80% charge??

I wonder if I can get my boss to pay me 100% if I only show up 80% of the time? It would be a nice gig if I could get that to happen.

I think that's 1 reason why there are so many supply chain issues. A lot of people do that. EA Attachments dude was complaining when I called about a Box Blade.

measuring the terminal voltage of a battery is NOT a true test of any battery.
Normally you do a 'load test' on a battery to calculate it's 'state of charge'. More testing and friggin math, but if you follow the MFRs proceedures, you'll get close to what they say. With Gate's batteries I was using, I did a 'load test' every 22.5 minutes and had 'alarm' bits sent to the host as 'OK', 1/2, 1/4, 1/8th charge left.

Silly thing with EV batteries... you HAVE to use their energy to warm themselves up before they can be used in Winter(cold days) yet 'they' don't publish how much that costs in fewer miles driven. Same with NOT reporting what happens when you have the heated seats on, defrosters on, heater at max, infoscreen, etc. while stuck in a traffic jam Xmas eve..... Also not posted is what happens when the battery gets real low. In the case of Teslas(1st gen for sure), you can drain the battery down and NOT be able to get into the car after it locks itself. At least Ford has a 'cutoff', where car can't be driven BUT you can still get into the trunk to get the power cable !
Tesla fined $275,000 for violating Clean Air Act at Fremont factory (msn.com)

I never saw it that way. I see thread drift as a way for people to talk about things, after the original topic has reached the end of its life pretty much.

Obviously, some members are interested enough in the drift, to keep participating.

If the OP of any thread feels it has reached the end of its useful life for his purposes, he can just simply stop reading the thread and let it go its merry way.

Why try to limit discussion by members that obviously have an interest in the area the thread drifted to?

Does not work for me...even though I have no interest in electric vehicles...or even much interest in the price of fuel, since I am retired and do not use much. Diesel for the tractors this summer may hurt a bit though.

I still read this thread anyway! LOL

Just put $130 worth of gas in the dump truck at $4.19/Gal (it was slightly below half tank). Then 10 Gal of diesel in the cans at $5.60/gal. So, just shy of $200 to fill two diesel cans and a half tank of gas in the truck. :(

Oh, checked the Ram on board fuel mileage screen...a whole 7.5 mpg. My rates will definitely be increasing.

The unsung effect of fuel prices. It increases everything else so people can make a living.
Wonder when the effects of releasing reserves will kick in.

Currently Maryland has a state gas tax holiday. I am in Pennsylvania but buy all of my fuel below the Mason-Dixon line, it has saved me at least 25 cents per gallon for the past four years, but now I am saving 66 cents. The tax holiday will only last 30 days but I plan on having all my equipment, vehicles and containers full before it expires.
