i tried fixing my fuel gauge sender with a dorman universal one from oreilly but its the wrong resistance will not work but it did have the 5 bolt seal etc. no way to take the old one apart and use the resistor from old one so i ordered new from kabota $ 145 ouch !

A note for anyone else contemplating replacing their Kobato sender... sometimes there's a way to make a new (different resistance) sender work with an existing fuel gauge. Needs a little research and basic resistor and maybe capacitor soldering :) Depends how you value your time.

You can fix the original one too. It's only resistive wire and a float with a sliding contact.

Some replacement ones may need electronics to make it work with the existing instrument; it may not be possible to adjust the range just with passive components.

What's the Dorman number, so I can lookup the specs.... or can you measure the resistance ?
FWIW the sender for my BX23S is +-100 ohms. If you have the WSM for your B2620 , the spec for the sender is in the electrical section. Once I know the two values I can se how to bodge the Dorman to work for you.

BTW, welcome to the forum @neal boudreau.

Too late now, but FWIW I discovered that these are available, about USD90
"The Fuel Bridge is a small, compact module that wires in-line between your fuel sending unit and your fuel gauge. It reads the resistance signal from your fuel sender, re-maps it into the range your gauge expects, and outputs a corrected signal so you always see an accurate fuel level. Best of all, calibration is a one-time process — it remembers your settings even if you disconnect the battery."

"It even includes a low fuel level warning that activates at 10% and turns off once you’re back above 15%."
