Still waiting on the Hydraulic kit for the 3rd function and remote QA. According to Kubota, "maybe" by the end of the year. Not even Kubota knows when they will be available.
Market prices are starting to cool down in the used truck market. I am seeing some rather large drops in advertised prices because people wised up and stopped buying, plus interest rates are going up making them less affordable. I have 2 trucks, a 2012 F350 and 2018 F150. The F150 is pristine and gets better than 21 MPG, and I really love driving it, but I still have a need for the F350, but not a short bed which is what I have. I just got back from a trip with my 5th wheel RV, and it uses a Reese Sidewinder to clear the cab on turns. The wedge has too much slop so the pinbox moves side to side on turns and cross winds and makes driving a white knuckle at times. I locked the pinbox on the return trip and removed the wedge making it a conventional connection. The trip home was so much more relaxing, but I had to be very careful making turns, then when I got home had to reinstall the wedge and unlock the pinbox on the side of the road so I could park it in the drive. At that point, I decided it is time to get a long bed.
I have been looking and used truck prices are ridiculous. I ran some numbers, and if I were to get rid of both my trucks and get an F450 instead, I could come out ahead by paying less per month, plus pay $800 less in insurance per year. I actually found a brand new one selling for MSRP, while all the others are in the 6 figure column, including USED! I am waiting to hear back from the dealer so we can go over numbers, and if they meet what I feel is a fair deal on trade, I may just go ahead and do the deal.
I know is sounds awfully high, but paying $92K for a new one does sound better than $114K for a 2 year old used one. If I were to replace my 2018 with a new Lightning, it would actually cost more than the F450.
Where this all stems from is I had done the math way back in January and decided to order a replacement truck exactly like my F150 but in the F350 model, and placed the order 2/2/22. It has yet to be scheduled.
