I know its probably sacrilege to put anything green on a Kubota, but I found a good deal on a 3-pt Frontier spreader and wanted to know if it would fix my BX1880? I plan to use it to over seed our small horse pasture.

It depends on the size of the spreader. Frontier makes them from as small as 15HP PTO to 60HP PTO. The smaller one may work on your tractor the larger one would not.

Thanks. its a Frontier SS1023B, which is their lowest PTO powered unit (16-30HP) and 0-1 Hitch. I thought I heard Deere 3-pt were a little different than others, which is why I asked.

The Deere that we had (older model) that dad sold last week, the 3-pt on it was the same as all our other tractors. I know the loader attachment is unique to Deere, but I don't believe the 3-pt is unique, I believe it is standard 3-pt.

Although, since I have only dealt with one Deere tractor, do not take my word for gospel, somebody that has dealt with the 1-series tractor will come along and let you know.

In addition, you can check out Tractor Time with Tim on YouTube, and he has both the 1 and 2 series tractors. I don't ever remember him saying anything about them having unique 3-pt, just the front loader attachment is different. Sorry, can't be more help.

All the standard cat 1 attachments from Frontier I've used on my standard cat 1 tractor worked fine.. As well as things of any other color.. Regardless of how bright or faded the paint was..

What I read tells me the most trouble people have is with standard cat 1 attachments on a limited cat 1, sub compact tractor.. All this making me presume limited cat 1 is different than cat 0....

so much for 'standards' ! What the heck does 'limited cat 1 ' mean ?? Cat1 is a whole list of 'specs', so who decided what was 'limited'......

Limited CAT 1 is the tractor, not the implement. Same size connection to the implement, but not the full range of motion. Starts lower when arms are level, won't raise as high.

Found a Faza F150 for $425. Fits 3-PT nice, but tractor top arm needs to be shorter to level it. Didn't know they came in different lengths. Even the PTO shaft fit, but is at the limit of how short it gets. Should I shorten a few inches for additional clearance?

I looked at shortening the top link on my L1500 when It still had the goofy bracket on it. I ended up buying a a shorter one as you can't shorten it past the adjustment.

After looking at it again I realized I hadn't screwed both sides of the top link it. Once I screwed in the implement side it leveled up nicely. Put down two 25 bags of seed in our 1 acre pasture in 15 minutes. Nice spread pattern also.
