I need help from you experts!!!
I have a Kubota L3400. I just came in from plowing this miserable snow.
As I was plowing, I noticed that when I turned the wheel all the way to the left, the left tire locked up. Thought it was a fluke so I tried it again...Same thing.
The right tire did not lock up..Only the left. So I turned the steering wheel all the way to the right.. Everything was OK then.
The tractor was engaged in 4 wheel drive. The 4WD is working fine, both wheels.

Do any of you know what would cause the wheel to lock up (NOT SPIN) when the steering wheel was turned all the way to the left???

Thanks for your help.

Hi wvcamper. It is unusual for this post not to get some kind of answer. Possibly because not many people have experience with this tractor. Maybe by bringing it to the top of the pile it will get noticed. My guess is that it is not good news. But these tractors are very easy to work on if you have any kind of mechanical aptitude. You will need a work shop manual and a parts book. Good luck. I hope some one gets back to you with some better info. Keep us posted.:D Dusty

My neighbor experienced a similar encounter with his 4WD L35. We put it in my shop up on jack stands and ran it. We found the wheel was being stopped when it binded (rubbed) against the subframe at full turn. Further inspection showed the stop that was bolted to the axle housing had broken off. We made one out of stock flat iron installed it and everythig is fine now.

Also if you drain the front axle oil do it in a glass or plastic container. That was uou can use a clean magnet to see if there are steel filings that should not be there...

Let's hope yours is that simple as my neighbor's. By the way how many hours are on the tractor?

Good luck and keep us posted!
